Algoa Nissan launches all-new Navara

For 27 years Algoa Nissan has been a leading dealership in the Kouga region, priding itself on supplying new and quality approved used vehicles along with best-in-class customer service and after-sales support. Now, it is set to solidify its reputation with the introduction of the next-generation Nissan Navara.

The Navara was introduced to the media and customers at a launch at Algoa Nissan’s Showroom in Humansdorp on 16 February 2017. Combining style and power with the toughness that the Navara is renowned for, the introduction of the locally built Navara is a game changer in the fiercely competitive bakkie segment in South Africa.

Speaking after the launch, Pierre du Plessis, Sales Manager for Algoa Nissan, explained that the 2017 Navara is the first vehicle in this segment to offer a five link rear coil suspension, making the utility vehicle capable of handing tough 4x4 terrains, as well as offering a comfortable ride on the tarmac.

Power meets luxury

The new model is no slouch when it comes to power, thanks to a 2,3-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that pushes out 140Kw of power and 450Nm of torque. Motorists will also be pleased to know that it is also 24% more fuel efficient than the outgoing model. There are three driving modes, namely four-wheel drive High for light off-roading, four-wheel drive Low for serious off-road driving in sand or deep mud, or two-wheel drive for everyday urban driving. Its electronic Limited Slip Differential ensures great traction even in two-wheel drive mode. Furthermore, the Navarra is an extremely capable workhorse with a 3,500kg braked towing capacity. All of this, together with a stylish rugged build, gives the Navara a commanding presence on the road.

And while the Navara is built tough on the outside and under the bonnet, the interior features luxury SUV appointments and technology. This includes dual climate, rear view monitor and reverse parking camera. Comfort during the long haul or short city drives is assured thanks to a generous amount of cabin space between the seats.

First-hand experience

Algoa Nissan will be offering test drives of the new Navara in mid-March. This is part of the franchise’s commitment to ensure that its customers have complete piece of mind when purchasing a new vehicle. “Customer satisfaction is our number priority,” states du Plessis. “It is for this reason that we have high customer retention in the Kouga region and also attract new customers on a regular basis.”

The franchise’s strong focus on putting the customer first has not gone unnoticed by Nissan. It was awarded Nissan’s small dealer award for 2015-16, based on its high service levels and product offerings.

du Plessis adds that the new model will have the edge over its double cab rivals thanks to its competitive pricing coupled with a 6 year/150,000km warranty. “Nissan’s brand image has certainly got a boost in recent years,” he added. “This is evident in the fact that it now as a 10% market share in the country. With the introduction of the 2017 Navara, I expect to see many more customers coming through our doors,” he concludes.
